Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars Are Enough To Replace Cinnamon Rolls For Breakfast!

The Good: Filling, Good nutrition, Realistic aroma and flavor, Fairly reasonable price
The Bad: Unfortunate artificial sweetener aftertaste, Artificial ingredients
The Basics: Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars are a decent way to get a filling start to the day with a lot of flavor!

My wife has a tendency to get us in some truly awesome treats to enjoy and for me to review. Today, I decided to prioritize one of the new foods she picked up for us: Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars. Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars are a good example of a meal replacement bar that does what it promises, but requires a little something extra to get the most out of it. In this case, the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar requires one to have water, coffee, or some other form of hydration available to get the aftertaste out of one's mouth and to keep one's body from feeling like it is drying out after eating it.

That said, I was surprised by how flavorful, affordable and nutritious the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars were!

Basics

Quest Nutrition is a health food company and the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar are the first product I have tried by the company.

Each Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar is in a 1.34 oz. bar that is foil-wrapped. Each bar represents a single serving and the Snack Bars are each 1 3/8” wide by 1/4” thick by 4” long Snack Bar that is unsurprisingly breakable or squishable. A box of Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars contains only five bars. Each bar looks like a granola bar with a white icing swirl on the top side.

Ease Of Preparation

Eating Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars is simple. After removing the foil wrapper, simply pull out the bar and stick it in your mouth. There is no particularly complicated equation to eating this snack; it is an entirely ready-to-eat food!

Taste

Unwrapping the Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar, the consumer is greeted with a strong cinnamon aroma that is enhanced by an imperceptible sweet scent. The scent is pleasantly enticing and enough to get anyone who loves cinnamon rolls to bite right into the bar.

In the mouth, the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar tastes powerfully cinnamon flavored. The grainy quality of the bottom of the bar is instantly offset by the sugary sweetness of the top, which tastes just like a sugary icing familiar to anyone who loves cinnamon rolls. The flavor of cinnamon rolls is exceptionally true in the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars!

As the primary flavor of the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar fades from the realistic cinnamon and sugar flavors that fool the consumer into believing they are eating a cinnamon roll, the flavor takes on a generic sweetener aftertaste. There is something of a saccharine sweet and bitter flavor to the aftertaste, but it washes out of the mouth easy enough.

Nutrition

Quest Beyond Cereal Protein Bars are intended as a meal replacement bar and they live up on that front. Each 1.34 oz. Cereal Protein Bar represents a single serving and they are fairly nutrient-filled. Made primarily of a proprietary protein blend, allulose, and soluble corn fiber, the ingredient list is more chemical than recognizable food ingredients. These cereal bars were produced on equipment that may leave the bar with traces of almonds and milk-derived ingredients, so they are not Vegan-compliant. While they are gluten free, the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars are not marked as Kosher.

Quest Beyond's Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars have 110 calories, 40 of which are from fat. A full serving represents 13% of one's RDA of saturated fat and they have 10 mg (3% RDA)of cholesterol. Surprisingly, they are comparatively low in sodium with only 170 mg (7% RDA) per serving and there are 12 grams of protein to be had by eating a full bar. These are not a significant source of vitamins or minerals, though they do have 15% of one’s daily RDA of Phosphorous and 8% of the RDA of Magnesium and Calcium.

Storage/Cleanup

As a healthy snack, Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bar remain fresh so long as they are kept in their wrappers. Our bar had an expiration date of November 2, 2017, so these last for a while. As long as the bars are not heated up, they remain fresh and the only real clean-up for them comes from wiping up crumbs.

Overall

Despite the aftertaste, the Quest Beyond Cinnamon Roll Cereal Protein Bars are a decent meal replacement . . . so long as one has enough of a beverage available to wash that aftertaste out of one's mouth after consuming!
